For many, Disneyland and Walt Disney World are fantastic sanctuaries of enchantment and reverie for the entire family. It’s the ideal exuberant atmosphere for a holiday. Nevertheless, it’s understandable that some members of your family may not be wholly enthusiastic about the “exuberant affection” of Disney. Maybe they favor something a bit more dismal?

Evidently, the most brilliant light can create the most disquieting shadow. It is full of mysterious urban legends, ghosts and ghouls.

1.A multitude of cast members proclaim that when the night falls, the dolls in “It’s A Small World” become animated, exchanging positions or disappearing completely.

2.After a male guest's death in the 1970s, Disney World's "Space Mountain" cast members have asserted that his spirit gleefully occupies unoccupied seats on the attraction as a ghost.

3.It seems to be a widespread practice among visitors to distribute the remains of their beloved ones on their preferred Disney attractions. The most popular spots for this are “Pirates of The Caribbean” and, unsurprisingly, “The Haunted Mansion.” The latter even offers urns for sale to deter such conduct.

4.Back in 2005, the "Mission Space" ride at Epcot claimed the life of a 4-year-old child. MS staff members have reported experiencing cold spots in the terminal where the incident occurred, and on occasion, the shuttle doors will close unexpectedly.

5.In 1999, an unknown reason caused the evacuation of the classic "It's A Small World" ride in Disneyland. As they prepared to depart, a mother took a few photos to finish the film. When the photographs were printed, one of them revealed a faint silhouette of a young one suspended from the ceiling.

6.Above the Fire Dept. adjacent to Disneyland's entrance is Walt Disney's former personal apartment.A custodial cast member once found the lamp turned on and turned it off. However, the light turned back on by itself. While the reason behind this occurrence remains unknown, the park has made the decision to keep the light on at night.

7.While the Haunted Mansion attraction at Disneyland is renowned for its humorous tone, there are a duo of ghosts that seem to prefer a more chilling vibe. In addition to the roughly 99 happy haunts that haunt the mansion, there are also a pair of boy ghosts that roam the halls. One ghost is often heard laughing, while the other is heard weeping. Could the snapshot taken by a guest be an image of one of these spectral beings?

8.Allegedly, a staff member suffered a fatal heart attack while helping guests onto one of the platforms at Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ “Tower of Terror”. It is believed that his spirit continues to linger on the ride.

9.Once upon a time, Disney World's Tomorrowland boasted a ride named America Sings, which featured a bunch of friendly creatures singing popular American ballads and anthems. Tragically, an employee named Deborah Stone was caught between the revolving walls in 1974 and lost her life. Guests mistakenly believed her screams were part of the show. Although the ride ultimately closed, Deborah's spirit lingers on in the pavilion.

The next time you find yourself waiting in line at Disneyland or Walt Disney World, you can bring up a rather morbid topic of conversation with the cheerful family in front of you.
