Twins are remarkable individuals in this world. They possess a connection that other siblings lack. Some even create a language unique to them to communicate. The Eriksson sisters were special, although in a gloomy and daunting way.

Ursula and Sabina Eriksson, two Swedish twins, caught the attention of the entire nation due to a series of events that were completely unexpected. They were both afflicted by folie à deux, a rare and serious mental disorder where the psychotic hallucinations of one individual are shared by the other. This even led to the slaying of an innocent person.

Despite the peculiarities of the Silent Sisters, the bizarreness that the Eriksson sisters inflicted on one another was much more disconcerting.

Very little is known about the identical sisters' childhood, except that they had an older brother and their conditions were poor. Sabina had been living in Ireland up until 2008 with her partner and children, with no signs of a mental illness. However, after her twin from America, Ursula, came to visit, the two became so close that they vanished suddenly.

Sabrina and Ursula were ousted from the bus at Liverpool because of their peculiar behavior. Taking a stroll down the M6 motorway, they caused the police to intervene when they started to disrupt the traffic. Sabrina declared in an unusual manner to one of the officers that, according to Swedish proverb, misfortunes never come singly. Normally there are at least two more.” Just moments later, Ursula collided with a semi-truck at 56 mph and Sabrina followed, being struck by a Volkswagen. Both women were fortunate enough to survive.

After passing out for fifteen minutes, Ursula was taken to a hospital and then arrested by the police. She showed normal behavior, pleaded guilty to the charges of trespassing, and was released from jail. Glenn Hollinshead and Peter Molloy were out strolling with their canine in Fenton when they spotted the apprehensive Sabina and proposed that she come to Hollinshead's place. Sabina accepted their offer and the following morning, after getting some tea bags for breakfast, she stabbed Hollinshead five times, resulting in his death.

Sabina emerged from Hollinshead's abode with a hammer and began beating herself with it. Joshua Grattage, who had been passing by, tried to grab the hammer from her, but she whacked him out with a roofing piece she had been carrying. Officers and paramedics were hot on Sabina's trail, until she jumped from a bridge 40ft onto a road below. She was given charges for murder the same day she left the hospital in a wheelchair.Sabina received a five-year prison sentence and was released in 2011. The cause of the twins' shared hysteria remains unclear, although there appeared to be folie à deux between them. During a 2008 interview, their brother stated that they were being pursued by "maniacs" on the motorway that day.

Who were these "maniacs"? Were they real, or did the twins tell their concerned brother out of delusion? Regardless, it is shocking that two women could be in such a state as to commit such a crime.
